One thing I love about your blog (and some others) is that it functions for me sort of like a clipping service (as they used to be called--I wonder if they still are)--you point me toward all these cool articles (or summarize or edit them)--and save me some time wading through the rising tide of webnews/commnetary--thanks!!!
[sorry if this posts twice--I seem to have misverified the word!]

Thank you!
I'm interested in observing how blogging has evolved in such a short time to have so many functions. I know there are blogs I go to because they aggregate or filter the news for me, and others because I like the writing, or both, or more. I started mine to learn how to do it for classes, and then wanted it to be a newsletter for my family and friends, but even when/if they read it, they never comment. Other bloggers are the only ones who seem to comment so far. That may change eventually, too.

Yeah, I'm curious about the way people comment of don't comment on blogs, and the whole psychology of that.

A friend suggested that many people read blogs like they read other printed material--without a real sense that they even CAN respond.

It may be other bloggers who have broken that through "read-only" print who comment.
Not that they do either...especially as another friend said, if they follow more than 100 blogs. (Eek!)
My sense of blogs has changed a lot, but at first I wanted blogging to invite pen-pal-like exchanges, and was disappointed.
However, after 6 months of regular blogging I notice how wide-angle, or ripple effect conversations sometimes get going between loosely linked blogs. Very cool.
It's all still mind boggling to me!
