After long weeks of sub-zero weather, we have been thrilled to be able to walk around with our jackets unzipped now that the temps are above freezing. Of course it means that the thin layer of old snow has melted and the brown frozen mud is exposed. It will probably snow again this week, and we hope it will snow enough to end the fears of drought, but the birds I heard chirping this morning sounded as happy as I am that the sun is out and the air feels mild and gentle. A great day for skating-- Ana and Jose have posted some video clips about their adventures skating on Lake Superior up in Duluth.

otro video? de repente ese generoso enlace a nuestro blog, rodeados de, el "otro video" del skater en el lago superior, Zidane, el patinador ruso y el violinista. Por alguna razon me ha recordado a ese film de Leone, el bueno, el feo y el malo. Y me asaltan las dudas, no se si me siento mas reflejado con el feo o con el malo. uhhhhhh!
There is no way in hell I will ever walk on a frozen lake. How scary. My daughter does skate locally. She takes lessons.

Earlier in the year, it was scary, but we just came out of a couple weeks of subzero temps. The ice is now thick enough to drive cars on, and folks are ice-fishing, ice-surfing, you name it. The two times I have ventured out to walk on the ice it did freak me out, though.
