Will Franken ever be seated? I wonder. What’s the buzz on that? At least he'd be funny. The US Senate needs a sense of humor (and a sense of honor). Seems like the MN legislature found theirs (humor, that is) - intentional or not!
Absolutely. It has been a foregone conclusion all along because the election was squeaky clean, the process of counting absentee ballots, etc, was also transparent and public, and every step of the legal process ha been scrupulously observed. The law allows Coleman to challenge, even though a majority of Minnesotans wish he'd just go away, and the State Supreme Count will hear his appeal in June. Then, Gov. Pawlenty is supposed to sign the final certificate. The Republicans hate hate hate Franken for having written all those books and having been a party activist for many years (he's not just a comedian) and have been trying to delay his appointment for as long as possible both out of spite and to prevent the filibuster-proof Senate majority. So Franken has been taking the high road and the local politics has been entertaining, but the more they delay, the more pissed people get at the RNC and the Gov.
