Arcade Fire won the Grammy last night for their album "The Suburbs" to the consternation of Justin Beiber/Lady Gaga/Eminem fans (stans) worldwise. But we love them!

I'd heard Arcade Fire here and there but was too lazy/distracted/whatever to really check them out. This post was a good starting place.
They're so involved and - this word is getting pummeled with overuse but - EPIC! I feel like they all must be physically (and emotionally) exhausted by the end of Wake Up, what with the O!-ing and strumming and drumming. (And the guy with the base-drum/tambourine dashing across the stage to grab an accordion . . . that's just badass.)
I'm thinking of another music group where everyone plays and sings and claps and makes lots of sounds (paper-ripping/ceiling-pounding! that was great!) . . . I can't remember the name. I have to remember the name . . . Anyway, I like that kind of dense efficiency.
Mumford and Sons isn't the group I'm thinking of, but it just occurred to me that they also have that all-in sound.
We got to see them perform here a few months ago, and the energy of the crowd along with the band was HUGE. Most of the band members play more than one instrument, and they switch off in different numbers. Their album Funeral (with Wake Up) was my favorite the year it came out, and the songs from The Suburbs have set their hooks in me!
