Yesterday, we had dim sum at a restaurant in the Richmond (34th and Balboa) called Shanghai Dumpling King. Fabulous, crowded, cheap, delicious! Everything I miss about living in SF, so just the thing to do on my trips here. They are famous for their "soup dumplings" which are made in such a way that a little bit of broth is sealed in with the dumpling filling. We also had two orders of the "sugar egg puffs"--like the pastry of a cream puff (without the cream), an eggy, custardy puffed dough, sprinkled with sugar. So so good!
Today we will join the throngs of shoppers on Stockton Street in Chinatown, then make our way to the
Ferry Building for the indoor part of the market.
