Commencing a mini-Preston Sturges festival on Criterion with The Palm Beach Story! Claudette Colbert and Joel McCrae are Tom and Gerry, the screwball comedy couple, but Rudy Vallée was most charming as the rich man who falls for Gerry on the train. There's some unpleasant humor at the expense of black characters. Sigh.
